Public Relations/Marketing Internship-Fall 2009

The National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City is seeking qualified intern candidates for Fall Semester 2009. Intern will have the opportunity to gain valuable, hands-on experience working on varied public relations and marketing tasks for a nonprofit organization. Internship is unpaid. Hours are arranged to the mutual satisfaction of both the Museum and the student.

Qualifications:
  • Junior or senior pursuing bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, mass communications, journalism or related field
  • Strong writing skills and familiarity with AP style
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work a minimum of 12 hours a week

WEB DESIGN INTERNSHIP

The unpaid internship is hosted by the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City. The host institution is also the site of internship activities.

The purpose of this internship project is to allow the intern an opportunity to function as a professional in his chosen field, and to confirm his enthusiasm for this choice of career path. The specific goal of this project is to design an interactive database driven web site kiosk to be presented in the Museum's Western Performers Gallery. Direction and content of the project will be provided by the Museum.

Intern must have knowledge of HTML, basic Adobe Photoshop skills, DreamWeaver, ASP.NET, and must possess good communication skills and be able to work independently.

The Intern is not an employee of the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum and shall not be entitled to any benefits.
