Kids Take Over the Cowboy: Día de los Muertos

Category

Día de los Muertos is a Mexican festival celebrated every year from October 31 – November 2 in commemoration of deceased friends and family members. Create a colorful sugar skull rock, a unique twist on a holiday tradition. Make tissue paper marigolds and papel picado, colorful symbols of the holiday, and enjoy storytime. Free for members or with Museum admission. All activities available while supplies last.

Steampunk Fall Celebration

Category

Come in your best Steampunk (or Halloween) get-up for the Museum’s fall festival. Create your own Steampunk accessories: goggles and wrist-top time-machine cuffs. Explore the Design-a-Robot maker space and create your own mini ‘bot out of everyday objects. Color a thaumotrope (a what?!), try your hand at tea dueling, fast draw target practice, look out for a penny-farthing and learn a dance or two. Activities are free for Museum members of with Museum admission. While supplies last.
