Saturdays for Kids: Rope Making and Leatherwork

Considered an essential tool for the cowboy, ropes came in all sizes, shapes, and materials. Learn to create leatherwork and make ropes. Available while supplies last. Free for children and accompanying adults. For more information, email education@nationalcowboymuseum.org.

Wild Weather Camp

The Museum hosts David Payne’s Wild Weather Camp, a fun and interactive weather safety program developed by David Payne and the News 9 Weather Team for elementary students. Kids will learn about severe weather events and what to do in different scenarios.  Bring a sack lunch to enjoy after the 45-minute presentation, then explore weather-related art in the Museum galleries. Wild Weather Camp will begin promptly at 10:30 a.m. Admission is free for students and chaperones (1 per 7 students).…

Saturdays for Kids: Journaling

Journals and diaries help provide a glimpse into the past. Create and decorate bound journals to help you tell your story. After completing your journal, visit the galleries to sketch some of your favorite items or visit the Gardens to create leaf rubbings. Available while supplies last. Saturdays for Kids: Holidays at the Museum

Prosperity Junction, Classrooms, Galleries Celebrate the holidays in Prosperity Junction, the Museum’s turn-of-the-century frontier town. Make Western-inspired ornaments, pinecone birdfeeders, and decorations, meet historical Western figures, sample frontier food, and mosey up to the sarsaparilla bar before dropping off your holiday wish list with Santa!
