Biographical Sketch
Tom Mix (January 6, 1880-October 12, 1940) was an American movie star known for his cowboy themed silent films. His movie career began in 1910, when he was hired by Selig Pictures. He continued writing, directing, and acting in movies with the production company until he signed with Fox Films in 1917. During his tenure at Fox he starred in more than fifty silent films and became a very popular entertainment figure. Mix also toured with various circuses including his own Tom Mix Circus showing off his horseman skills around the country. He died in a car accident in 1940.

The Tom Mix Publicity Photographs collection is comprised of 143 photographs of Tom Mix. They range from movie stills to published behind-the-scenes images.
