Rodeo Livestock Contractor
Born in Texas in 1899, T. C. “Buck” Steiner began rodeoing at age 12. As a young man he performed around the country with the Miller Brothers’ 101 Wild West and Ranch Show.
In 1930 Steiner formed his own company that presented amateur rodeos in Central Texas. Within a few years he switched to the professional circuit, producing and contracting the string for larger venues. He also bred superb bucking stock on his Texas ranch. After World War II Steiner took his son, Tommy, into the business, and over the next four decades Steiner Rodeo Company expanded and became a major rodeo producer.
After retiring from active participation in the business, Buck Steiner established the Capitol Saddlery Company in Austin, making rodeo competition saddles. He died in 2001.
