April 19, 2022 @ 9:30 am - April 21, 2022 @ 5:30 pm

In conjunction with the Traditional Cowboy Arts Association (TCAA), this workshop will focus on demonstrations and hands-on learning. Instruction will address overall design and layout, overlay and soldering techniques as well as creating silver inlay borders, stripes and sheet inlays. Forging techniques for spurs and ported mouth pieces will also be covered. Students will gain insight and tools to create an aesthetically looking piece.

Instructors: Bit and spur makers Wilson Capron and Ernie Marsh have more than 50 years’ experience between them. Their unique designs and insight into the craft has influenced the work of many contemporary bit and spur makers. Jesse Marsh has spent more than 30 years focusing on bit and spurs as well as blacksmithing.

Workshop will be held just outside of Lovell, Wyoming, at Ernie Marsh’s studio.
