Geraldine (Jerry) Finch Fraser was born in Big Springs, Texas, in 1930. Her early years were spent in Arizona and New Mexico where she completed her education at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. In 1950, she moved with her family to Arkansas where she competed in barrel racing and met her husband, “Doc” Fraser. Together the opened a saddle shop and Jerry began learning the art of carving leather goods. While raising their three children, Jerry and Doc conducted recognized American Quarter Horse races and continued to produce leather goods.


For the past few decades she has worked for M.L. Leddys in Fort Worth, Texas where she carves trophy saddles for the National Cutting Horse Association. In 2005, Jerry carved gift saddles for President and Mrs. Bush to give the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall. Jerry has been carving leather for more than 53 years.
