Both in the arena and behind the scenes, Arlene Kensinger dedicated most of her life to rodeo. An accomplished horsewoman, she worked in rodeo management, timing events and riding in parades at venues all over the nation. Her troupe of teenage performers, “The Cheyenne Dandies,” presented flags in opening ceremonies at Cheyenne and many other rodeos.
For over two decades Arlene Kensinger has worked with the Miss Rodeo America Pageant. In addition to serving on the board, she has been manager, chaperone, and companion for the title holder over the years.
For her tireless efforts to promote the sport of rodeo, Arlene Kensinger received the Tad Lucas Memorial Award in 1995.
