Raymond Adams Jr., senior partner in Adams Cattle Company, was one of the founders for U.S. Premium Beef. He helped improve quality of meat offered to the public and provided incentives for ranchers to produce higher quality products.

He attended Cornell University, The University of Kansas and Kansas State University. He served in the Air Force.

Raymond became a member of the Kansas Livestock Association in 1954. He was also a member of the Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association. He was a Board member of the Livestock Meat and Industry Council (LMIC) for 15 years. He was awarded the Outstanding Stockman Award in 2006 for K-State’s Block and Bridle Club; Livestock & Meat Industry Council Stockman of the Year Award in 2005. In 2004, the Adams Ranch was named Hereford Breeder of the Year by the Kansas Hereford Association. He was inducted into the Kansas Cowboy Hall of Fame as Cattleman/Rancher for 2013.

Adams raised Quarter horses as working ranch horses recognized by the American Quarter Horse Association for their outstanding quality.

He was well known for his generosity and contributions to individuals and organizations that supported the values of hard work and integrity which he held dear.
