The Annie Oakley Society is made up of women leaders and philanthropists who, like Annie Oakley, play a significant role in shaping their communities while keeping the values and spirit of the West alive.

Through their efforts, members are working with the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum to build and sustain world-class educational experiences to teach children and families the rich history of the American West.

In addition to preserving Western heritage and supporting children’s education, the members of the Annie Oakley Society honors a woman of significance at their annual luncheon. This award is a way to show respect and admiration for outstanding women, who through true grit and determination, strive to make a difference while leaving a lasting legacy for us all.

The members of the Annie Oakley Society invite you to join in the fun as we make a difference to preserve the Western values we hold so dear.

Previous honorees include Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, Reba McEntire, Nadia Comaneci, Kristin Chenoweth, U.S. Navy Admiral Michelle Howard, Donna Shirley, Mary Higgins Clark and Mo Anderson.

The Annie Oakley Society’s cornerstone initiative is a unique and experiential education project named, Liichokoshkomo’, pronounced lee-cho-kosh-ko-MO’ the Chickasaw phrase for “Let’s play!”, that shares all aspects of our diverse Western heritage, core values, conflict resolution, and environmental stewardship through hands-on/minds-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) integrated programming. This experience will promote learning through play-based environments placing children on a path of discovery, lifelong learning, innovation, literacy, and creativity.
