As the first African American Deputy U.S. Marshal, Bass Reeves was responsible for protecting 75,000 square miles of Indian Territory. Explore how Reeves lived the Code of the West principle “Know where to draw the line,” in both physical and moral boundaries. Stop by the Museum’s Heritage Table to explore what the Code of the West means and how YOU can be part of it and create your own Marshal badge. Free for members or with Museum admission.
