October 23 @ 10:00 am – 5:00 pm
Each month, the Museum highlights a different Code of the West at the Discovery Table.
Learn the stories of individuals who have embraced the West and “Live the Code” and participate in a self-directed activity.
Levi Strauss emigrated to San Francisco during the gold rush and opened Levi Strauss & Company. With the help of his colleague Jacob Davis, the two developed pants were made of denim and secured with new copper rivets. The two lived the code “Be Tough, But Fair” by sharing the cost of the patent that helped maintain recognition for the iconic blue jeans. Celebrate German-American Heritage Month and complete an activity in designing your own cowboy jeans.
Free for members or with Museum admission. Available while supplies last.
