The Code of the West is a set of unwritten values that guides the lives of Westerners. It teaches values of honesty, hard work, grit, and so much more. This code helped Westerners survive and thrive in the vast landscapes of the Western frontier.
Sitting Bull was a strong warrior and voice for the Lakota tribe in the face of tumultuous and unfair treaties. When bands of his tribe were persuaded to surrender their land, Sitting Bull was determined to protect all his people, their homelands, and ways of life. Explore Sitting Bull’s way of life, how he lived the Code of the West “Be tough, but fair”, and complete a Tipi model. Free for members or with Museum admission. Available while supplies last.
