Traditional Cowboy Arts Association (TCAA) artist Wilson Capron talks about his renditions of traditional Western cowboy gear such as spurs and bits. He discusses what the culture means to him, and his process of bringing into reality the gear portrayed in Western paintings and sculptures.
“The utilitarian aspect of this is very intimidating to people because they don’t quite understand it. But what we need to understand when we go back to a painting or piece of sculpture, is what you find in those paintings and sculptures is this stuff that we’re creating,” said Capron. “We’re all together in this story of the West.”
