Saddle Bronc Rider
Bart Clennon, born at Aberdeen, South Dakota, in 1910, began a twenty-year rodeo career in 1928. His first victory came in bronc riding at Post’s Trading Post, at Ashcreek, South Dakota.
Clennon rodeoed at all the major venues. In the 1930s and 1940s he captured 32 saddle bronc-riding titles, including Sterling, Colorado, in 1938, Boston Garden in 1941, and Fort Worth in 1942. He performed more than 50 times in 13 go-rounds at Madison Square Garden to win the title in 1945.
After being injured in a fall, Bart Clennon became a rodeo judge. He also owned his own hardware business. He now resides in Tucson, Arizona.
