Join Montie Carol Montgomery in a two-night workshop focusing on collaborative songwriting. Montgomery is an entrepreneur, author, songwriter and co-creator of the music and lyrics featured in “The Cowboy: An Immersive Journey,” which is playing at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum.

Discover the art of songwriting in this interactive two-session workshop designed for beginners and experienced writers alike. Participants will explore how songs are built through storytelling, structure and mechanics of writing with emotion while gaining insight into the creative process. Through Q&A, discussion, exercises and writing prompts, attendees will learn how personal experiences and emotions can be transformed into compelling lyrics and song ideas.

In the second session, participants will put those ideas into practice by collaboratively writing songs in response to a prompt. With feedback and creative support, attendees will develop lyrics while discovering their own songwriting voice. No matter the musical genre, this workshop offers a welcoming environment for collaboration, experimentation and sharing.
