Join us for the Spring Roundup, an unforgettable week of Spring Break fun at The Cowboy!

Drop by each weekday starting Monday, March 17 to participate in family-friendly activities that let your kids immerse themselves in the history of the American West. Be sure not to miss the extra-special fun on Saturday, March 22 when Kids Take Over The Cowboy!

Free for members or with Museum admission. Available while supplies last.

All activities run each day from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Monday, March 17 – Boot Movement
Step into the role of boot designer for a day of drop-in activities inspired by the new exhibition Cowboy Boots from Roundups to Runways. Design your own boots and make quick-draw copies through the art of printmaking, then brighten up your day by creating a boot suncatcher.

Tuesday, March 18 – Ag Day
Become inspired by ranching and agriculture at The Cowboy! Join us for a day of drop-in activities by creating colorful beaded corn, calling the farm animals home with your own cowbell instrument, and making a lamb headband.

Wednesday, March 19 – Boots & Beyond
Join us for a day of activities inspired by the new exhibition Cowboy Boots from Roundups to Runways. Stamp a design into a leather boot keychain and create your own boot planter!

Thursday, March 20 – High Noon Games
Winner takes all! Throw your hat into the ring by stopping by The Cowboy to play some Wild Western Games. Test your luck at rodeo bingo and a chance to win the western cake walk. Jump into a game of giant horseshoes while you explore Liichokoshokomo’!

Friday, March 21 – Native Artistry
Ribbon skirts and ribbon shirts are a reminder of the rich diversity and enduring spirit of Indigenous cultures. Create a unique bookmark inspired by ribbon work. Try your hand at different types of weaving, paint a story on faux animal hide, and settle in for story time at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Saturday, March 22 – Kids Take Over The Cowboy.
Kids will take over the Museum for the Day! They’ll be able to explore the new exhibition Cowboy Boots from Roundups to Runways, complete with a scavenger hunt, and be inspired by the many different styles and colors of boots. Then they can grab paints and brushes and create their own canvas of colorful footwear. Kids can also meet a cast of characters straight out of the American West including Teddy Roosevelt, Abraham Lincoln and Annie Oakley.
