The new railroad depot and the cattle car signify the regular arrival of cattle drives from Texas, bringing a steady stream of profits and larger than life characters. Visit the shops and offices of prominent local business and civic leaders. The north side of town is devoted to the railroad, blacksmith and livery. The south edge hosts more social institutions: a one-room school house, church and doctor’s home. The storefronts and sheriff’s office occupy either side of the main street.
