Western Heritage Awards – A Look Back

This year marks the 60th anniversary of The Western Heritage Awards. The ceremony honors individuals who have made significant contributions to Western heritage through creative works in literature, music, television and film that share the great stories of the American West.

We have honored and had the honor to invite some amazing people to the WHA. Let’s scroll down memory lane and look at some of the greats that have graced our Museum. Let’s start in 1961.

Clint Eastwood – 1961

John Wayne – 1965

Burt Reynolds – 1971

Barbara Stanwyck – 1973

Garth Brooks – 1991

Sam “Quality Mustache” Elliott – 1992

James Garner – 1996

Tommy Lee Jones – 1997

Tom Selleck – 2002

Temple Grandin – 2012

Kevin Costner – 2019

You – 2027

If you love The West and want to share its stories, do it. Write about it. Sing about it. Make movies and TV about it. And then share it with the world. Can’t wait to see you on stage at a future Western Heritage Awards.
