Storytime plays a vital role in introducing children to the magic of books. Each week we’ll feature a new engaging Western story read by local authors, community leaders, traditional storytellers and Museum staff.
This week listen to Lynn Fries read her book “Carl and the Shadow Hill Gang.”

Friess was born in upstate New York and is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin. A proud mother of four and grandmother of 12, she resides in Wyoming. Author of three books, “Western Lullaby” which was the recipient of the 2011 gold IPPY award and the 2011 Gold Mothers Choice Award, “Jackson Hole’s Carl Discovers Wildlife Art”, and “Carl and the Mysterious Nibbler”. The “Carl” title is the first in a planned series of books about an inquisitive chipmunk. With delightful illustrations by John Potter and written in an engaging style to introduce children to wildlife, the proceeds from the Carl books will help sponsor programs, exhibits, and operating support for the National Museum of Wildlife Art. Lynn currently serves as a Trustee to the NMWA and is on the Board of the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City, OK.
