Bio

James Taylor Craig was a South Dakota rancher, banker and stockman.

He worked with the John Clay organization for 46 years, holding jobs ranging from cowhand to range detective to superintendent of Western Ranches, Ltd. He was one of the founders of the Butte County Court House in Belle Fourche.

He was elected vice president and later president of the John Clay Banks in South Dakota and also served as a director of the Stock Growers Bank in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Craig was president of the Western South Dakota Stock Growers Association. He was director of the Swan Land and Cattle Company at the time of his death in 1930.
