Born in 1983, calf-roper and steer-wrestler Ryan Jarrett of Summerville, Georgia, works the family dairy farm when he’s not going down the road. He burst on the rodeo scene in 2004, winning the Southeastern Circuit steer-wrestling championship and taking the PRCA Resistol Rookie of the Year title.

During 2005 Jarrett took steer-wrestling honors at the Pace Picante ProRodeo Challenge in Omaha, Nebraska, and the ProRodeo Classic in Dallas, Texas, as well as at the Ellensburg, Washington; Duncan, Oklahoma; and Lufkin, Texas, rodeos. In calf roping he captured the Wrangler ProRodeo Tour round in Ellensburg, as well as championships at Richmond, Virginia; Franklin, Tennessee; and Cody, Wyoming. Qualified for both events at the National Finals in Las Vegas, Nevada, Jarrett won neither but nonetheless captured the All-Around Champion Cowboy title with the largest dollar accumulation of the year.
