This axe is a reproduction of an axe found at Oklahoma’s Spiro Mounds. Fashioned in the shape of an Alligator Gar fish, the axe was used in ceremony and not war. Similar ceremonial axes are found in Central America emphasizing the shared religious beliefs of Indigenous peoples through North and South America.
