Warren Coriz is the son-in-law of one of Santo Domingo’s most famous families, the late Hilda and Arthur Coriz. He learned his potting techniques from famed potter Robert Tenorio and continues to study under Robert today. Warren makes all his pottery in the traditional manner; hand dug clay and slips, hand coiling, painting with natural slips, and outdoor firing. Warren is known for making classic Santo Domingo food bowls. These are polychrome pieces with traditional pueblo bird designs painted in black with various red slips.
