Born in 1932 at Pampa, Texas, June Bull Ivory came early to rodeo, first riding in quadrille performances and entry parades as a youth. Throughout the 1950s and 1960s she occasionally contested in barrel racing and goat tying on the non-professional level. However, it was in rodeo organization, management, and programming that she made her greatest contributions to the cowboy sport.

Over a period of nearly 50 years, June Ivory served as an RCA and PRCA secretary and timer at rodeos throughout the United States and overseas. Her major secretarial venues included the National Finals Rodeo, the National Finals Steer Roping, the National Intercollegiate Rodeo, the Texas Youth Rodeo, the Old Timers Rodeo, and the National Finals Indian Rodeo. She served as secretary and timer at the World’s Richest Roping; the World’s Fair Rodeo at Montreal, Canada; and the World’s Fair American Wild West Show & Rodeo, Brussels, Belgium. Ivory designed the secretary and judge’s sheets for the RCA and originated the first Rodeo Secretary School in 1968.

A Gold Card member of the PRCA, June Ivory received a Women’s Professional Rodeo Association Western Heritage Award and was inducted into the Texas Rodeo Hall of Fame in 2001. She passed from the arena in 2004.
