Rodeo Livestock Contractor
Henry “Hank” Christensen began his career as a rodeo cowboy and stock handler at age 17. In 1936 he and his brother, Bob, both of Eugene, Oregon, formed Christensen Brothers Rodeo Company. One of the best-known and most respected contractors in the sport, for more than three decades the firm provided stock for the nation’s major venues and for many smaller shows as well.
The Christensen Brothers’ string, some of the rankest in the business, included the famous saddle bronc Warpaint, chosen as the RCA’s top bucking horse between 1956 and 1958. In 1970 Hank Christensen’s nephew, Bobby, took over the company and produced nearly three dozen rodeos per year. In 1986 the firm expanded to include stock contractor Harry Vold and rodeo producer Tracy Denly, as Christensen Brothers and Vold Rodeo Company, headquartered at Roseburg, Oregon.
Hank Christensen died in 1986.
