Join us Monday evenings as we spark imaginations by hosting virtual bedtime stories with “Bedtime Buckaroos,” presented by Paycom.

Storytime plays a vital role in introducing children to the magic of books. Each week we’ll feature a new engaging Western story read by local authors, community leaders, traditional storytellers and Museum staff.’

This week, listen to Al Bostick read “Bubba the Cowboy Prince: A Fractured Texas Tale” by Helen Ketteman, James Warhola (Illustrator.)

“Bubba is bossed around the family ranch by his wicked stepdaddy and mean, nasty stepbrothers — until Miz Lurleen, the purtiest rancher in Texas, rescues him and makes him her cowboy prince.”

About the Reader

Al Bostick holds a bachelor’s degree in theatre, acting and directing, with additional master’s degree-level course credits in theatre. He has directed and performed his storytelling nationwide, including in educational settings. A Governor’s Arts Award winner for his work in education, as well as a recipient of a Citation of Excellence in the State, Bostick is an accomplished storyteller, playwright, actor, and director who pursues excellence. He believes all children can learn once they remove “I can’t” from their vocabulary in his work.
