Bio

Frederick Ford Drummond (July 13, 1931 – October 18, 2020) was a respected rancher, businessman, and community leader in Oklahoma. Born in Enid, Oklahoma, to Frederick Gentner and Grace Ford Drummond, he grew up in Hominy and graduated from Hominy High School. He attended Oklahoma A&M (now Oklahoma State University), where he earned a B.S. in Animal Science and a 2nd Lieutenant Commission through the Army ROTC program. After serving as an Artillery Officer in West Germany during the Cold War, Frederick pursued an MBA at Stanford University.

Frederick worked as a loan officer in Kansas City before returning to Oklahoma in 1958 to manage his family’s ranch after his father’s passing. He married Janet Kathryn Trahern, with whom he shared nearly 62 years of marriage. Frederick took on various leadership roles, including Chairman of the Board at Cleveland Bank, where he served for 50 years, and he successfully managed the family ranch.

Deeply committed to giving back, Frederick was a lifelong Presbyterian and dedicated community leader. He served as an Elder and Sunday school teacher at First Presbyterian Church of Pawhuska and was a founding member of the Oklahoma Nature Conservancy, helping establish the Tall Grass Prairie Preserve.

He held numerous leadership positions in civic and industry organizations, including Chairman of the Pawhuska Library and Hospital Boards, and President of both the Osage County and Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Associations. Among his many honors, Frederick was inducted into the National Cowboy Museum’s Hall of Great Westerners and the Oklahoma Hall of Fame.
